Magic Presents: Reality Echoes is a special Pick-Two Draft event that can be run during the second half of the Reality Fracture season (October 16 through November 5, 2026). It brings an exciting variation twist to the standard Pick-Two Draft format by centering gameplay around Echoed Pairs—a bonus sheet of paired legendary cards found in Reality Fracture Play Boosters.
Each pack in the draft contains three cards from the Echoed Pair bonus sheet: two cards that form a true Echoed Pair, and one unpaired legendary. The core event mechanic rewards players who draft both cards of the same pair, unlocking a powerful in-game advantage built around those cards that allows them to cast one from exile.
This variation introduces some of the consistency and build-around appeal of Commander to the Pick-Two Draft format, giving players a useful anchor for their deck strategy.
Run this event as a Pick-Two Draft, with players drafting three packs of Reality Fracture Play Boosters, passing packs as normal.
How Echoed Pairs Work
Before each game begins, a player may reveal two different cards they drafted that are part of an Echoed Pair. Those cards start the game in exile. The player may cast one of those cards during the game as though it were in their hand; when they do, they may shuffle the other into their library. Players begin each game with only a single Echoed Pair in exile.
Important rule notes:
Each Reality Fracture Play Booster contains three Echoed Pair bonus sheet cards: two that form a true pair and one unpaired legendary. Players who draft the unpaired card from a pack may still acquire its match through other packs during the draft, forming a valid pair.
Players are not required to draft an Echoed Pair; they may pass both cards of a pair from a pack if they prefer two other cards instead, or if they're simply holding out for a better pair later.
A player may draft multiple pairs over the course of the draft (including by picking up unpaired legendaries whose Echoed Pair partners come up in later packs). If a player ends up with more than one complete Echoed Pair, they designate one Echoed Pair as their exiled pair before a game begins.
Two copies of the same legendary card do not qualify as an Echoed Pair. The pair must consist of the two different cards that are part of a specific Echoed Pair from the bonus sheet.
A player who does not end up with any complete pair may still play normally—they simply do not have access to the Echoed Pair mechanic. This is uncommon but can happen if a player is inflexible about their colors and never sees a pair containing cards in those colors, or if they pass on pairs in earlier packs hoping for a better option in pack three.
Reward: Reality Fracture Set Symbol Pin
Players who win their draft, or who go undefeated in larger events where there is no single clear winner, receive a Reality Fracture set symbol pin as a prize while supplies last.
